Summer Reading, July 4-July 10

Monday - Library CLOSED

Tuesday
Books & Babies @ 10:00 a.m.
Pre-School Story Time @ 10:30 a.m.
Camp Half Blood Begins @1:00 p.m. (pre-registration is required).

Wednesday
Toddler Tales @ 10:00 a.m.
Sweet Sand @ 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. (pre-registration is required).

Thursday
Puppets With Pizzazz @ 2:00 p.m.

Sponsored by the NY State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.


Children may still register for the summer reading program! Each child is encouraged to read at least 15 minutes a day and keep track of their time in a reading log. At the end of the week they may bring their log to the library and pick up the weekly prize. In addition to the weekly reading challenge many special events will be taking place at the library. We hope to see you this summer!

Froggy Visits the Wadsworth Library!


Monday, June 28th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Registration for the summer reading program begins with a visit from Froggy (of Froggy Gets Dressed by Jonathan London). Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt and come to the library luau to see Froggy! Parent's don't forget your cameras.
Open to children of all ages.

49. 64 new crayola crayons. You're right, the crayons are shameful! I will replace them ASAP.

50. Chronicles of Narnia series. Please do this I am 1/4 of the way through the first book. The library does own all of the books in the Narnia series. If you don't see the one you are looking for ask a librarian and they will reserve a copy for you.

Special Event Registration Begins Today - June 1

Registration is now open for the following summer events:

Camp Half Blood: A Literary Adventure
Tuesdays from 1:00-2:30 p.m.
July 6, 13, 20, 27 and August 3 & 10

Grades 5+

Join us this summer as we dive into the deep with Percy Jackson and Olympians! We'll be reading and discussing the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan. Also as a part of Camp Half Blood we will be making ceramic clay pots in the Green style, studying Greek mythology, making Camp Half Blood T-Shirts, playing trivia games and more! Space is limited.

Summer Writing Workshop
August 9th-13th 1:30-3:30 pm
Grades K-6
Want to stay inspired this summer? Come for a week long writing workshop at the library! We will write in our writers notebooks (Don't have one? You will!) and fill it up with new and fresh ideas. We will work together to write sensational stories, create perfect poems, craft some new nonfiction, really anything you want! At the end of the week we will publish an anthology of our best work to share with friends and family at summer cookouts. Sign up and join the fun!

Food Fun in the Summer Sun: Sweet Sand
Wednesday, July 7th
1:30-2:30 p.m. or 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Grades K-3
We'll be making yummy "Sweet Sand," with vanilla wafers, pudding, gummy fish and more. If you child has allergies a complete list of ingredients will be available at the circulation desk.

Food Fun in the Summer Sun: Smoothies
Wednesday, July 21st 1:30-2:30 or 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Grades 4-6

Relax and cool down at the library while making and enjoying smoothies and fruit pops. If your child(ren) has allergies a complete list of ingredients is available at the circulation desk.
