Next week (April 5th-9th) Books & Babies, Pre-School Story Time and Toddler Tales will begin again for the spring. Register now and reserve your spot by calling the library at 243-0440.

Keep the Ideas Coming!

43. Manatee books, Hardy Boys, and Loch Ness Monster. We only have one book on Manatees so you're right we need some more! We do have many of the Hardy Boy books, if there is a specific one that you would like let us know and we'll order it from another library for you. We do have several books on the Loch Ness Monster! Next time you stop in ask a librarian to help you find some.

44. It would be great if the library could buy the DVD "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Thank You! We do own a copy of the DVD. It is a popular movie though, so if its not on the shelf make sure to place a hold on it.

45. Berinstain Bears "Wild West" Book. Tons more Arthur movies (for kids) The library just purchased Season 10 of the Arthur TV show! It should be here soon. Also, we will look for the Wild West book.

46. Have a shelf for stories written by local kids so kids can check out stories written by their friends, neighbors, etc. Have a club for kids who write stories and self publish them, print them, illustrate them, bind them, etc. We do have some stories written by local children in the collection, but not very many. This summer, however, we are hoping to sponsor a week long writing program for kids at the library! Kids will be able to work on their own stories and then they will be "published" in an anthology at the end of the summer. Look for more information as we get closer to the summer reading program.

47. Make a book about pink, sparkly cats and purple, sparkly dogs that live together in a sparkly pink and purple mansion. And they're billionaires! WOW! This sounds like a great idea for a story and I think YOU should be the author! You've got some fun ideas :-) We're hoping to have a writing club this summer at the library and this would be a good start.

More From the Idea Jar...

To see previous ideas/suggestions click on the link on the right hand side under "More Pages" "Idea Jar Comments and Questions."

38. "Get track books."
You're right, we don't have any books on track and very few on running/cross country or marathon sports in general. I will look into buying some for the collection.

39. "Get soccer books they are asome." We do have several soccer books! Stop by the circulation desk next time you are in and the staff will help you find some.

40. "alot more Arthur movies. more Beranstain Bears books and movies. a room with a couch to relax. More American girl movies." We will continue to purchase more Arthur movies, thanks for asking! We are trying to purchase/replace books in the Berenstain Bear collection. It is difficult to find Berenstain Bear books in hardcover however, so it is a slow process. We do have a comfy couch upstairs in the balcony. If it is ok with your parents you are welcome to take books upstairs to read and look at. There are also comfortable chairs in the Chanler Reading Room at the back of the library. I think we own all of the American Girl movies except Chrissa on DVD. I will order it today! Let me know if we are missing any others.

41. "Some movies that I would like you to buy are, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen and GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra. If you got these that would be great!!! Thank you also for your time and effort. We own both Transformers 2 and GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra, they are shelved with the adult DVD's in the main room. They are very popular so if you don't find them on the shelf just let the staff know and they can place "a hold" and reserve a copy for you. Thank you for your comments!

42. "Nintendo, nintendo, nintendo games." We do have 34 games for the Nintendo Wii. They are located in the YA area next to the catalog computer. There are rarely more than 3 or 4 in the library at a time, however, so if you are waiting for a specific game you'll want to have the library staff place a "hold" on the game for you. We will be ordering several new games later this month.

Keep the ideas coming!
