Special Event Registration Begins Today - June 1

Registration is now open for the following summer events:

Camp Half Blood: A Literary Adventure
Tuesdays from 1:00-2:30 p.m.
July 6, 13, 20, 27 and August 3 & 10

Grades 5+

Join us this summer as we dive into the deep with Percy Jackson and Olympians! We'll be reading and discussing the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan. Also as a part of Camp Half Blood we will be making ceramic clay pots in the Green style, studying Greek mythology, making Camp Half Blood T-Shirts, playing trivia games and more! Space is limited.

Summer Writing Workshop
August 9th-13th 1:30-3:30 pm
Grades K-6
Want to stay inspired this summer? Come for a week long writing workshop at the library! We will write in our writers notebooks (Don't have one? You will!) and fill it up with new and fresh ideas. We will work together to write sensational stories, create perfect poems, craft some new nonfiction, really anything you want! At the end of the week we will publish an anthology of our best work to share with friends and family at summer cookouts. Sign up and join the fun!

Food Fun in the Summer Sun: Sweet Sand
Wednesday, July 7th
1:30-2:30 p.m. or 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Grades K-3
We'll be making yummy "Sweet Sand," with vanilla wafers, pudding, gummy fish and more. If you child has allergies a complete list of ingredients will be available at the circulation desk.

Food Fun in the Summer Sun: Smoothies
Wednesday, July 21st 1:30-2:30 or 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Grades 4-6

Relax and cool down at the library while making and enjoying smoothies and fruit pops. If your child(ren) has allergies a complete list of ingredients is available at the circulation desk.

Summer Reading Information

Brochures for the upcoming summer reading program are now available! Copies of the brochure will be distributed at the Genesee Country Christian, Geneseo Central, and York Central Schools. Additional copies of the brochure are available at the library.

Summer reading event information can also be found online through the children's calender or on the Friends of Wadsworth Library Facebook page (become a fan!) There is also a copy of the basic summer reading brochure on this website under "Children's Program Brochures." Registration for the summer reading program will begin Monday, June 28th.

Children's Author Bruce Coville to Visit the Wadsworth Library


To our great delight it has been confirmed that popular children's author Bruce Coville will be visiting the Wadsworth Library this summer! Bruce's newest book, The Last Hunt, the long awaited conclusion to the Unicorn Chronicles, will be released by Scholastic on June 1st. Under the Sea


Thursday, April 15th from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Dive into the deep blue sea at the library! Enjoy an evening of fishy books, underwater-themed crafts and some tasty ocean snacks. Open to children pre-k and up. Sponsored by SUNY Geneseo's Chapter of NRHH.
